More than 70 Years of Educational Experience

For more than 70 years, St. Fatima has been part of the educational journey of generations of students and families. At St. Fatima International School, we bring together the strength of an American education with the values, culture, and sense of community rooted in our Egyptian identity.

We believe education should prepare students not only for academic success, but for the decisions and opportunities they will encounter in life..At the heart of our school is a belief that knowledge matters most when students can use it wisely. We strive to develop young people who are curious, capable, financially literate, technologically confident, grounded in integrity, and connected to their community and heritage. Our goal is to give every student a strong foundation for the future while remaining true to who they are and where they come from.

Principal & Head of School Letter

A letter from our Head of School.

Dear Families and Community Members,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to St. Fatima School for the 2027–2028 academic year. As we proudly build on more than 70 years of educational history and tradition, we are especially excited to begin a new chapter with the launch of our American Division. We look forward to an inspiring journey ahead—one that honors our strong foundation while embracing new opportunities for learning, growth, innovation, and global engagement. We are delighted to have you with us as we begin this exciting chapter together.
Education today must go beyond preparing students for exams. The world they are growing into is changing quickly. Technology, artificial intelligence, the economy, and the way people work are all evolving, and our students need to be ready for that reality. At St. Fatima International School - American Division, we want learning to have a clear connection to life beyond the classroom.Of course, strong academics remain essential. But academic knowledge alone is not enough.Students also need to know how to think, how to question, how to make decisions, how to deal with technology responsibly, and how to understand the financial and economic world around them.
We want our students to experience learning in a way that encourages initiative. They should have opportunities to build ideas, work on real projects, explore entrepreneurship, use AI intelligently, solve problems, and understand that what they learn in school has a purpose beyond a grade. Equally importantly, we want them to remain grounded.
For me, a successful education is not only about what a student achieves, but also about the person he or she becomes. Integrity, responsibility, respect, and a strong sense of identity matter. Our students should be proud of their Egyptian roots while being fully prepared to participate in a global world.
Launching the American Division gives us a valuable opportunity. We are not simply adding another section to a school; we are building its culture from the beginning. That means being intentional about what we teach, how we teach it, the experiences we give our students, and the standards we expect from ourselves as educators. Our aim is clear: to graduate young people who are academically prepared, financially aware, confident with AI and technology, entrepreneurial in their thinking, responsible in their choices, and ready to make a meaningful contribution wherever life takes them. This is the direction we are taking, and I am genuinely proud to be part of building it.

History and Founding

Story

St. Fatima International School is part of a family legacy spanning more than 70 years of private education in Egypt. In 1954, the late Mr. Fouad Habib established one of the country’s first private schools, laying the foundation for a tradition of educational excellence and innovation. Since then, the Habib family has remained committed to advancing the quality of education in Egypt and preparing generations of students for a changing world.

Mr. Fouad Habib’s contributions to private education were widely recognized. In 1956, he was honored by President Gamal Abdel Nasser, and in 1979, he received the Pioneer of Private Education Badge of Honor from President Anwar El-Sadat in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sector.

Carrying forward his father’s vision, Dr. Sameh Fouad Habib continued to advance education through innovation. In 1983, he modernized the curriculum by integrating technology and innovative teaching methodologies, introducing management information systems and electronics into the curriculum and pioneering Egypt’s first Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Believing that education should foster a genuine love of learning, Dr. Habib moved beyond traditional rote memorization toward inquiry-based teaching, encouraging students to question, explore, and think critically. His commitment to private education was further recognized through his appointment to represent private schools in discussions with Egypt’s Ministry of Education, a role he has held for more than 20 years.

In 2015, the third generation of the Habib family continued this tradition with the opening of Metropolitan School, led by Mr. Seif Sameh Habib. Recognizing the growing importance of globalization and multicultural education, he expanded the educational experience to include innovative approaches that prepare students for an increasingly interconnected world, including Egypt’s first entrepreneurship program within a school setting.

This continued evolution of the Habib family’s educational vision is reflected in the St. Fatima Group’s growing international education offering since 1998. The Group’s international education was established through its British Division and, in 2027, was extended with the addition of the St. Fatima American Division.

The St. Fatima American Division represents the next chapter in this enduring educational story—bringing the Group’s experience, values, and commitment to innovation into an American educational context. Aligned with the Common Core State Standards, the American Division combines the opportunities of an American curriculum with the core values that have shaped St. Fatima throughout its history: integrity, responsibility, respect, strong character, and a commitment to learning. Building on this foundation, the St. Fatima American Division is preparing a new generation of graduates to navigate and contribute to an increasingly complex world. With a focus on financial literacy, AI fluency, adaptability, critical thinking, and responsible decision-making, the American division seeks to equip students not only with knowledge, but with the skills and character to use that knowledge thoughtfully and meaningfully. It is a continuation of the St. Fatima legacy—honoring where we have come from while preparing students for where the world is going.
